Handmade Donations for Rex Hospital

UNC Rex Hospital has asked us to share the request for handmade donations for the comfort and care of a variety of patients.

  • Adult bibs - use absorbent fabric on underside (contact for pattern)
  • Baby Hats - knitting or crochet pattern provided (contact for pattern)
  • Busy Aprons
  • Drain Bag - 10 x 18 cut fabric,folded in half, 1/2” seam, sew up sides,
    turn hem on top, with 40” ribbon strap
  • Knitted Knockers
  • Lap robes, Blankets - sewn, knitted or crocheted approx. 4’ x 5’
  • Mastectomy pillow - softly stuffed (contact for pattern)
  • Neck Pillow - compactly stuffed (contact for pattern)
  • Rectangular pillows in bright colors/patterns, finished size 10" x 17", cut 11" x 18", ½ inch seams, softly stuffed
  • Shawls
  • Telemetry bags - 6 x 14 heavier fabric, folded in half, ¼” seam, sew up sides, turn hem on top, with 40” strap
  • Tote bags - 14" x 18" finished size
  • Walker/Wheelchair accessory (contact for pattern)

You are asked to drop off your donations at the front doors of Rex Hospital (it's fine if you park in the roundabout by the doors to bring donations in).

They ask that each donated item includes an attached donation slip:
