Cary Quilting Company opened its doors in January 2013 as a natural extension of Julianne's first business, Patchwork Memories, Inc.. Patchwork Memories was a custom quilt-making business, where a talented staff created thousands of t-shirt quilts, memory quilts, and more for ten years, from 2006 to 2015.
It was a natural fit and simple transition to begin sharing our love of fabric and quilting with other quilters by founding Cary Quilting Company. Classes and longarm quilting services are important parts of how we share quilting with our community.
In May of 2017, we expanded the shop from our original historic home in downtown Cary to a larger space full of natural light at Northwoods Market on Harrison Avenue in Cary.
Owner Julianne Walther began quilting over 25 years ago, and has been quilting professionally since 2005. She is a member of the Capital Quilters Guild in Raleigh, NC, and the Piecemeal Quilters Bee. She has created thousands of quilts over the years, including many for charity. She is also a mother of 4 great teenagers, and enjoys distance running.
