Our 2018 Challenging Fabric Challenge Winners!

We are so pleased to announce the winners of our Challenging Fabric Challenge for 2018!  We had over 600 votes for the 18 beautiful quilts - wow!

In first place, Donna Bennett's log cabin roses quilt won!  Donna is a beginning quilter, but has years of sewing experience. This is her original design!  She says "I saw a picture of a "pink ribbon" quilt with roses and loved it.  Then I saw a quote that asked about what the person thought the New Year would bring. Her answer? Roses.  Why? Because I am sowing (sewing) roses!"

Quilter Mark Evaul took second place with Star Bursts in a Rainbow.  This is also an original pattern. Mark says "I saw a similar quilt on Reddit and made it up as I went along."

In third place, Kelly Wyatt gave us Disappearing Daydreams. Kelly says "I wanted to do something "real" - not just make something usable. I also wanted to try a disappearing block.

Honorable mention goes to Lisa Rademacher with her modern quilt design - she missed third place by just two little votes!

Thanks to all 18 quilt makers who entered the challenge this year! Look for this challenge again next August at Cary Quilting Company.  In the meantime, we will be on the lookout for a fabric to top this year's selection!

2017's rodents say:

 "Impossible!"

2018's little people say:

 "Bring it on!"

See you for next year's challenge!
