Skill level: Confident Beginner-This class assumes you have a working knowledge of your sewing machine and have previously made some type of sewing project.

Maximum enrollment: 10

In this class, you will learn how to make two types of envelope pillow covers for a 14” pillow form– a simple one and one with flanges.  If you are an intermediate sewer or are up for an adventure, you can also bring supplies for an envelope pillow cover with piping.   For beginners, you may not be able to complete all three in class, but you will learn the techniques for all.

The fabrics shown above are mostly plain so you can see the details.  However, this is your opportunity to be creative!  Purchase some bright outdoor fabric to make pillows for your outdoor space, seasonal fabric to change the covers as the seasons change, or coordinating fabric for your indoor décor.

We will also go over yardage and cutting requirements for pillows of other sizes that you can make in the future using the same techniques.

As an added bonus, Kristene will also provide a demonstration of couching, which is sewing a cord or trim on the right side of the fabric using a couching or decorative stitch foot. She will demonstrate adding words or a design to a pillow cover made out of a midweight fabric such as an outdoor fabric or a denim.  This may be taught in more detail in a future class.
