If you like the quilting process (either hand or machine quilting) and/or you would like some practice with many different patterns, then a whole cloth quilt might be for you.

This class is a design class.  Kim will NOT be teaching how to baste a quilt, nor how to machine or hand quilt in this class.

A Whole Cloth quilt has no piecing.  The design is the quilting.  Kim has made 4 Whole Cloth quilts.  The Yellow/Green quilt has an all-over design and is hand quilted with some trapunto work.  It is also reversible.

The 2 White Whole Cloth quilts are sampler quilts that have 40 different designs, using different colors of thread for each design and yarn to delineate the blocks.  One is Hand Quilted and the other is Machine Quilted.  Kimused Free Motion quilting and Walking Foot Quilting in the Machine quilted version.

The Blue Quilt (hanging in the shop) is machine quilted and reversible.  Kim took her favorite designs from the white quilts to make this quilt.  There are 16 different designs included, some using free motion, others using a walking foot.

The first session of the class will be used to help you decide what type of quilt you want to try.  You may be able to start marking your design as well.

The second session will be used to help you finalize your design and begin or finish marking your quilt top.

During both sessions, you will have full access to Kim's vast collection of books and stencils to aid in your design.
