Aurifil Thread Matters Class

Saturday, August 10th, 2019

1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Kit Fee:  $26.00 due to Instructor at beginning of class

Instructor: Annie Smith

See Annie Smith's Bio here.

Take advantage of this very special class with Annie, a certified Aurifilosopher. Where else will you have the opportunity to use all of the Aurifil thread weights to learn how they work in your sewing machine, and which thread is the best for the project you’re working on?
In this class, each student will make individual stitch samples with six of the Aurifil thread weights (12 cotton and wool, 28, 40, 50, 80) and discover which needle size corresponds with the correct thread weight. The stitch samples will include straight stitch, zigzag, and a variety of decorative stitches from your own sewing machine — so you can see how the threads stitch out when you use them at home.
Annie will also share with you her  favorite tips and tricks for quilting (not pictured. They’re secret!). You won’t want to miss what Annie will show you. (Hint: The tips and tricks will change the way you make quilts).
Each student will receive a kit which includes: an Aurifil shopping bag, an Aurifil color card and thread matters brochure, a specialty box of 7 Aurifilosophy threads (each of the seven weights), a Schmetz needle pocket guide, a mini binder with page protectors and lined paper for note-taking, three Schmetz machine needles, fabric and stabilizer for stitch samples, sample fabrics and notions for tips and tricks, pencil and marker. (Value $55. for a $26. Kit fee)
