Julie Matheny - Bio
Julie learned to sew as a child and was always fascinated by her great-grandmother’s quilts. She sewed her first quilt when she was 12 and then went on to try various other sewing projects. As an adult she has been somewhat of a global nomad and while living in India rediscovered her love of fabric and quilting. Her favorite parts of quilting are the color/fabric/pattern selection process, paper piecing, machine applique and free motion quilting. She enjoys challenging herself to try new techniques and then passing along that knowledge to others.
Julie currently splits her time between mentoring college students, taking care of her family, volunteering with a local non-profit, gardening and of course, quilting.
