Edrina Burnette - Bio

Edrina Burnette

Edrina BurnetteEdrina is the wife of a wonderful husband and mother of four. She loves spending time with her family and making quilts! Her sewing journey began when she took her first formal sewing class at Cary Quilting Company in January of 2018 after making the decision to step away from her full time job to focus on her family. After completing her first quilting class, she realized that she had found her new passion. Initially, her focus was on baby quilts, but has taken her skills and applied them to making custom memory quilts, t-shirt quilts, quilted and upcycled tote bags, pouches, and more!
Her first quilts were inspired by friends and people in her community that were battling breast cancer. She wanted to give them something that would show them love and give them comfort through their journey. Each year, she gifts a quilt to someone who is surviving, battling, or has received a recent cancer diagnosis. She also loves making incubator quilts for the babies in the NICU! Since she started making quilts, she started a tradition with her children where they each receive a new quilt from her each Christmas, with each quilt highlighting what they like at that time.
She has taken several technique classes (paper piecing, t-shirt quilts, and appliqué) at Cary Quilting Company and is beyond excited to now have the opportunity to teach here!
